So, Mom and I went dress shopping for the first time Saturday. I tried on four dresses - two of which would be contenders if they had a wee bit more fabric on top. One dress would be very pretty, but is out because when I kneel Father would get a view of a part of me that neither he nor I would want him to see.
So, it looks like I'm going to have to go looking at one of the area shops that sells Jasmine or Eternity gowns. Eternity is a LDS gown designer and Jasmine will make certain styles of their gowns "temple ready."

Hi Sara,
Sorry I didn't respond to your e-mail. I thought I had made a list of all the places that I visited that had potential, but... :-/ ...apparently I didn't.
What I would suggest, in hindsight, is to go to a David's type of place to try on some dresses and see if there's a particular style you like - I found that the rouched waist was flattering on me, for example - and then look for elements like that.
But I have to tell you, ordering the dress online isn't that much scarier than ordering a dress from a shop that I haven't been able to try on. Still scary, yes, but not much. If you go with a reputable vendor and have a good seamstress for your alterations, that's about as good as it gets...
I'm still miffed that our only options for modest gowns are Mormon-owned or cater to Mormons...
Shopping with mom, wow.... too have got some jeans & shirts from BT Factory Direct.
